Expanded Sportsnet+ Programming Integrated Into Rogers Xfinity Television Bundles

September 19, 2026

Rogers Communications has revealed a significant upgrade for its television subscribers, integrating premium Sportsnet+ programming into existing service tiers without raising prices. Starting in late September 2026, the company will broaden its sports broadcasting reach by incorporating over 150 National Hockey League contests into its standard lineups. This move is designed to consolidate various viewing options, ensuring that subscribers can access high-demand athletic events through a single, unified interface rather than managing separate add-ons.

The update specifically targets those who already have Sportsnet included in their Rogers Xfinity TV subscriptions. These viewers will gain access to three newly launched digital stations dedicated to this exclusive content. Among the highlights of the expanded roster is the Monday Night Hockey series, alongside a collection of more than 100 additional matches. This enhancement represents a significant financial benefit for consumers, as the Sportsnet+ premium features were previously offered as a supplemental service priced at roughly $13 every month. By removing this barrier, the company aims to provide a more comprehensive value proposition for its residential customer base.

Accessibility is a primary focus of this rollout. Rogers has stated that customers are not required to perform any manual updates or change their current plans to receive these benefits; the transition will occur automatically. Users can navigate to the new hockey games and other athletic broadcasts using the voice-activated remote technology integrated into the Xfinity platform. Bret Leech, who oversees the residential division at Rogers, noted that this initiative is intended to simplify the viewing experience, positioning the platform as a central hub for professional hockey enthusiasts in Canada.

As a major player in the North American telecommunications and media landscape, Rogers Communications continues to leverage its infrastructure to serve a wide demographic. The company, which is listed on major stock exchanges in both Toronto and New York, remains focused on bridging the gap between traditional cable services and modern digital streaming needs. This latest inclusion of Sportsnet+ content serves as a strategic step in reinforcing their market position within the competitive sports entertainment sector.
