Rogers to Distribute Hundreds of Complimentary Blue Jays Tickets for Canada Day Matchup

July 4, 2026

In celebration of the Toronto Blue Jays entering their 50th season and the upcoming national holiday, Rogers Communications has announced a significant ticket giveaway for one of the most popular dates on the baseball calendar. A total of 500 tickets will be handed out to Rogers patrons for the July 1 game, which features a matchup between the Blue Jays and the New York Mets at Rogers Centre. This initiative aims to connect fans with the sport during a summer highlight, reflecting the company’s dual role as a major telecommunications provider and the owner of the Canadian MLB franchise.

The distribution event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, across three unannounced sites within the Greater Toronto Area. At each of these surprise pop-up spots, the first 75 eligible customers to arrive will receive a pair of tickets. To add a historical touch to the experience, winners will have the opportunity to be photographed in original seating from Exhibition Stadium, the venue where the franchise played its inaugural game in the spring of 1977. While 225 pairs of tickets are reserved for these physical locations, the company is also offering 25 pairs through a digital contest on Instagram.

To participate in the giveaway, individuals must demonstrate that they are current Rogers customers. This can be achieved by presenting a mobile device active on the Rogers network, displaying the MyRogers application, showing a Rogers Red Mastercard, or providing a physical billing statement alongside a piece of photo identification. Precise information regarding where and when these giveaways will take place is set to be released on the official Rogers Instagram account starting at 7 a.m. ET on the day of the event.

According to Terrie Tweddle, the Chief Brand and Communications Officer for Rogers, the company views the Canada Day game as a premier summer event and takes pride in facilitating fan access to the ballpark. This specific promotion is part of the broader Rogers Beyond the Seat initiative, which provides various perks to customers throughout the year, such as specialized seating upgrades and access to Rogers Landing. As a publicly traded entity on both the New York and Toronto stock exchanges, Rogers continues to integrate its telecommunications services with its sports and entertainment holdings through these community-focused events.
