Verizon finds work for DT's former CTO among all the AI agents

Verizon Communications has appointed Abdu Mudesir as its new Senior Vice President of Global Network and Technology Strategy after the executive recently stepped down from his position at Deutsche Telekom. The former Group Chief Technology Officer of the German incumbent will now report directly to Joe Russo, the Executive Vice President and President of Global Network and Technology at the American carrier. His transition to the United States operator follows a swift departure from his previous leadership role, which he had only occupied for a short period following a promotion last October.

In his new capacity at Verizon, Mudesir is expected to oversee the strategic direction of the operator’s telecommunications infrastructure and technological roadmap. This appointment comes at a critical juncture for the carrier as it seeks to integrate advanced automation and artificial intelligence into its core network operations. The executive brings extensive experience in managing large-scale European network transformations, which Verizon intends to leverage as it navigates the transition toward more autonomous and software-defined network architectures.
